Your first Physiotherapy appointment will consist of a full and thorough assessment and some treatment/advice.
Assessment will mean the physiotherapist will ask you all about your condition and symptoms. A full medical history will be taken including asking about any medication you may be taking. An examination will then take place to establish the cause of the problem and the structure at fault.
It is quite acceptable to wear a pair of shorts during your examination or small vest type top, if you would prefer.
At the end of the examination the Physiotherapist will give you a diagnosis of your condition and suggest a treatment programme. This may consist of home exercises and things to do to help yourself.
Physiotherapy treatment can consist of spinal mobilisation, advice, taping and strapping, exercises, soft tissue massage and acupuncture.
